Meet Mike Bellah
Born
and reared in Canyon, Texas, Mike Bellah received a Bachelor of Theology
degree from Dallas Bible College in 1973, a M.A. in English Literature
from West Texas A & M University in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Technical Communication
and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University in 1998. Bellah has worked as a
Christian camp director, a pastor, and, from 1993 to the present, he has
been a college English teacher. Currently, he is Professor of English at
Amarillo College where he teaches English Composition, Technical Writing,
Creative Writing and a continuing education course on C. S. Lewis' Chronicles
of Narnia
Bellah's 1988 book, Baby Boom Believers (Tyndale House), was
a finalist for a Christian Booksellers Association Gold Medallion Award.
From 1994-2000 he wrote "Midlife Moments," a weekly column in the Amarillo
Daily News. Today, Bellah continues to write articles for newspapers, online
e-zines and his website, www.bestyears.com.
He is an avid reader, bicyclist and hiker. Mike and Charlotte Bellah live
in Canyon. They have five children and five grandchildren.
